Een audiovisueel reisverslag naar een tranende fontein in Portugal, waarop ik oorspronkelijk poogde mezelf te projecteren en de liefdesverdriet te helen. Het falen van je emoties te voorspellen wordt op humoristisch wijze gedocumenteerd met een voice-over.

感傷旅行と称して、涙の噴水を訪ねるためにポルトガルへ向かった旅行記。現地から友人へ送った絵葉書をもとに、予測できない感情の時差、期待と失望、その愛すべき凡庸さについて考察した映像作品。旅行という行為が、常に故郷との類似点を無意識に探すものであることにも言及している。

A travel journal named “Sentimental Journey” visiting a fountain of tears situated in Portugal. Based on a postcard sent to a friend, this video work reenacts unpredictable emotional time lags, expectations and disappointments as well as their lovable banality. It is also meant to demonstrate that traveling is more than often an act by which one unconsciously seeks out similarities with one’s native soil.
