Harpij is een Grieks mythologisch figuur met vrouwenbuste, vleugels en klauwen. Oorspronkelijk waren ze feeërieke creaturen maar later veranderde de beeltenis naar rovende, vuile monsters. Gefascineerd door deze verandering in perceptie creëerde ik een harpij-zelfportret dat alles observeert van op een hoge tak.

ギリシャ神話に登場する女面鳥身の伝説の生き物ハーピーは、元は美しく若い女性として、のちに貪り食う汚らしい老女として語り継がれてきた。このイメージの変遷に興味を持ち、高い枝から全てを見渡し、観察する自画像的なハーピーを製作した。

Harpy is a Greek mythological figure with a female bust, wings and claws. Originally they were fairy creatures, but later the image changed to robber, dirty monsters. Fascinated by this change in perception, I created a harpy-self-portrait that observes everything from a high branch.
